A lot of the negative feedback I got on my second pitch was about the video quality, which I figured out how to improve on my computer’s camera. I was surprised how much praise I got for changing my idea slightly to be marketed more for individuals, not just their bank. They said my pitch improved, but I still had that good slow delivery. They said I should work on not shifting back and forth so much. One person said he liked the postcard props.

I was definitely more comfortable in front of the camera this time! I made my pitch less wordy and more to the point this time (although it was only 10 seconds shorter), and it wasn’t memorized, but it was pretty similar to my second pitch’s format. I kept the post card props, although I still think I could do something better than that. I was able to brighten the camera settings for this pitch, and put the camera in a better location and angle.

  1. Good to see you progressively became more comfortable with being in front of the camera. Your ability to grow through practice has shown. Also, good to see that you were able to understand your own flaws, and build upon them. Shifting back and forth is difficult, natural tendency. I tend to do it as well in my presentations, not nervousness but just a habit.

In my opinion, your pitch definitely improved. The camera adjustment was perfect; I could see you. You seem very poised and professional in front of the camera. I also liked the fact that you said you did not memorize your pitch. That seemed to work well for me too. I tend to speak faster when I have a memorized speech; however, the downside for not using memorization is combatting the ….uh’s.

  3. Hello April, you did phenomenal on your final elevator pitch. The changes you made really helped to improve your presentation. You were very confident and natural, which shows your confidence in your product and understanding of your product. You projected yourself well, your camera angle and lighting was great. I definitely need to work on my camera angle. Overall great pitch April.
